Lynn Zheng 郑丽青
Lynn Zheng 郑丽青 was born in Hefei, China. She loved literature from an early age and began publishing poems in local newspapers while at university. After graduation, she worked in architectural design. In 1988, she moved to the United States with her husband, Alex Wang.
During her decades in the United States, Lynn worked in a wide range of settings, including Chinese restaurants, factories, architectural offices, schools, and high-tech companies. These experiences gave her a close view of many sides of Chinese immigrant life: newcomers struggling with language and livelihood, aging parents caught between dependence and dignity, children growing up between cultures, and families quietly carrying the cost of migration.
She never stopped reading or writing. Rooted in sustained observation and personal memory, her fiction focuses especially on how ordinary people make choices and preserve their dignity under the pressures of illness, marriage, loneliness, ambition, family duty, misunderstanding, and migration. Her narrative voice is restrained and compassionate, drawing on everyday detail, natural dialogue, and understated humor to reveal emotions that are complex and deeply human. These are not grand immigrant narratives, but intimate stories of difficulty, attachment, endurance, and belonging.
This collection was first published in 2018 as Dislocation: Born in China, Living in America. It was later revised and released as the bilingual learner edition The Knot / 结. Lynn now lives in Spain, where she continues to read, write, and garden, and to reflect on the meanings of home, migration, and belonging.

郑丽青 Lynn Zheng 出生于中国合肥。自少年时代起，她便热爱文学；大学期间，她开始在当地报纸发表诗作。毕业后，她从事过建筑设计工作。1988年，她与丈夫王许成移居美国。
在美国生活的几十年里，郑丽青先后在中餐馆、工厂、建筑事务所、学校和高科技公司等不同环境中工作，亲历并观察了华人移民生活的多个侧面：为语言与生计奔忙的新移民，在依赖与尊严之间挣扎的年迈父母，在两种文化之间成长的孩子，以及默默承受迁徙代价的家庭。
她从未停止阅读和写作。她的小说植根于长期的生活观察和个人记忆，尤其关注普通人在疾病、婚姻、孤独、野心、家庭责任、误解与迁徙的压力下，如何作出选择并守住尊严。她的叙述克制而富有同理心，善于借助日常细节、自然对话和不动声色的幽默，呈现人物复杂而真实的情感。她笔下的故事不是宏大的移民叙事，而是关于困境、牵挂、忍耐与归属的日常人生。
这部小说集最初于2018年以《错位：生在中国，活在美国》（Dislocation: Born in China, Living in America）为名出版，后经修订，以《结 / The Knot》推出双语学习者版。郑丽青现居西班牙，继续阅读、写作与园艺，也继续思考家、迁徙与归属的意义。

Lynn Zheng 郑丽青
Lynn Zheng 郑丽青 nació en Hefei, China. Desde pequeña sintió un gran amor por la literatura y, durante sus años universitarios, empezó a publicar poemas en periódicos locales. Tras graduarse, trabajó en diseño arquitectónico. En 1988 se trasladó a Estados Unidos con su marido, Alex Wang.
Durante sus décadas en Estados Unidos, Lynn trabajó en entornos muy diversos: restaurantes chinos, fábricas, estudios de arquitectura, escuelas y empresas de alta tecnología. Estas experiencias le permitieron conocer de cerca muchas facetas de la vida de los inmigrantes chinos: recién llegados que luchaban por aprender el idioma y ganarse la vida, padres ancianos atrapados entre la dependencia y la dignidad, niños que crecían entre culturas y familias que soportaban en silencio el coste de la migración.
Nunca dejó de leer ni de escribir. Su narrativa, arraigada en la observación continuada y la memoria personal, se centra especialmente en cómo las personas corrientes toman decisiones y preservan su dignidad bajo las presiones de la enfermedad, el matrimonio, la soledad, la ambición, las responsabilidades familiares, los malentendidos y la migración. Su voz narrativa es contenida y compasiva; recurre a detalles cotidianos, diálogos naturales y un humor sutil para revelar emociones complejas y profundamente humanas. No son grandes epopeyas de la inmigración, sino relatos íntimos de dificultades, afectos, resistencia y pertenencia.
Esta colección se publicó por primera vez en 2018 con el título Dislocation: Born in China, Living in America. Más adelante se revisó y se publicó como edición bilingüe para estudiantes de idiomas con el título The Knot / 结. Lynn vive actualmente en España, donde sigue leyendo, escribiendo y cuidando su jardín, y reflexionando sobre los significados del hogar, la migración y la pertenencia.
